The South Charlotte Division of Waste Pro has 56 employees who provide excellent service to over 32,000 residential customers and approximately 1,500 commercial customers. Founded in 1755, the area that is now Charlotte was settled by European colonists. Thomas Spratt, a descendent of U.S. President James K. Polk, built a house near the intersection of two Native American trading paths: one north-south along the Great Wagon Road, and the other east-west along Trade Street.

South Charlotte is also home to some of the city’s most prestigious schools and attractions. The University of North Carolina Charlotte is just outside downtown. Several Amtrak routes serve the area daily.
